# Why are my images cropped?

Certain sections, such as the image banner and video banner sections, may include settings that allow you to control the height of the image, but this results in the image being cropped.

### I don't want my images to be cropped

If you do not want your image to be cropped, use the '**Adapt'** or '**Adapt to media'** option in the **height** setting to display the image in its original aspect ratio.

There are some sections where this may not apply. In sections like the split banner, split card, or slideshow section, depending on the length of your content, the image may need to be stretched in order for the content to be equal on both sides.

### How do I control how the image is cropped?

Primavera fully supports Shopify's focal point feature in order to prevent images from being cropped in key places. [Visit Shopify's documentation](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/images/theme-images) to learn more about the focal points feature.
