Theme Licensing
Theme licensing is managed directly by Shopify, in accordance with their Terms of Service. If a theme is purchased on the wrong store, we're unfortunately unable to issue a refund or transfer the license ourselves – you’ll need to reach out to Shopify Support for assistance. To help avoid this, we always recommend making full use of the unlimited free trial period to ensure the theme is a good fit before completing your purchase.
Once you’ve purchased Primavera, you’re welcome to use it on multiple development stores, provided they remain password-protected. If you plan to use the theme on multiple live (public) stores, you’ll need to purchase a separate license for each one. Otherwise, Shopify's automated theme piracy detection system may flag the stores, which could result in delisting. Please note that this process is entirely handled by Shopify, and we don’t have the ability to override their enforcement policies.
Custom development
If you're doing custom development, we suggest doing development on the final store that will be open to the public wherever possible, while using an unpublished theme. This will keep your changes hidden to public while you develop, and removes the need to migrate media content and products.
If you need to have a separate development store, we recommend following this process to ensure a seamless migration. In this example, we're assuming that there is a main store with a paid Shopify plan, and a development store that is password protected.
Utilize the unlimited free trial to see if Primavera is the right fit for your store
Purchase Primavera on the store you would like to publish the theme on
Download the code from your live store and upload it to your development store/repository
When you are finished modifying the code, push it back up to the live store
If your changes are minimal, you may want to push it directly to the version of the theme associated with your purchase (or a duplicate of that theme), so that you are not locked out of the automatic upgrade flow
If your changes are extensive, you may need to manage upgrades manually
Please note, you will need to migrate any file assets over to your live store. This can be handled by the use of third-party migration apps.
